It's Time to Play the Music...

Because there's a new Muppet's movie coming out this year (you may have heard about it.) Disney is putting out some other Muppet related merchandise for Muppet fans to get their hands on. Probably the most exciting of these things is something called The Green Album set to be released August 23rd. The Green Album, we've learned, is an album with some of the most famous Muppet song's covered by today's artists. Will it work? I'm not sure. The track listing actually seems rather enticing, taking a look at it. And Weezer doing Rainbow connection is enough to at least merit a sampleing of the album. Below is a complete list of the songs and artist that will be on the album.

OK Go: "Muppet Show Theme"
Weezer and Paramore's Hayley Williams: "Rainbow Connection"
The Fray: "Mahna Mahna"
Alkaline Trio: "Moving Right Along"
My Morning Jacket: "Our World"
Amy Lee: "Halfway Down the Stairs"
Sondre Lerche: "Mr. Bassman"
The Airborne Toxic Event: "Wishing Song"
Atreyu's Brandon Saller and Good Charlotte's Billy Martin: "Night Life"
Andrew Bird: "Bein' Green"
Matt Nathanson: "I Hope That Something Better Comes Along"
Rachael Yamagata: "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday"
