New Episodes of Arrested Development in 2016
Those who saw the fourth season of Arrested Development had a lot of things to say about it and not all of them were kind. Some complained about the format that focused on only one character at a time. Some complained about the fact that some shots were clearly patched together from two different shots because schedules couldn't line up well enough to get the everyone in the room at the same time to shoot the shot. Some just had general complaints about the quality of the show saying the magic of the first three seasons was gone. My personal complaint? The ending. Not what the ending was exactly, but the fact that they chose to end on a cliffhanger. I mean I was waiting for the better part of a decade for that season to finally come out and we had no idea how long a fifth season would take to get together or if it would ever finally happen at all. And I had to wait with that ending?
Well we still have to wait a while but at least a general end date to our waiting game has been announced. Producer Bryan Grazer has stated that the fifth season of the show will begin shooting in January of 2016 with an aim to put the episodes on Netflix midway through the year.
Now to be fair (And so I don't get caught in my own "Not really a news story" net later) I do want to say that nothing has come from Netflix about an official timeline yet. And in the same interview, Grazer admitted that in order for a early 2016 shoot to happen some schedules will most likley have to be juggled again. (though hopefully not as much as before) But this is the first hint at an actual shooting date on the books for the fifth season rather than the vague "someday" we've gotten in the past, so it's worth at least some excitement.
