Black List 2011
Every year a list of un-produced screenplays is released. This list includes screenplays that have been read and receive a great amount of positive feedback but for one reason or another have yet to go into production. Each year these screenplays, most of them completely unknown to those of us on the outside of Hollywood are for the first time heard about by the general public. Many screenplays to have been featured on past years lists have even gone on to be rather successful movies including Juno and last year's The Social Network.
This year's list includes sevearl movies including a biopic about Alan Turing topping the list and the screenplay Django Unchained (which I think we all know will more than likely get made) But the most intriguing entry on the list is one coming in at number three called Chewie. All we have right now is a one sentence sinopsis which states that the movie is "A satirical behind the scenes look at the making of Star Wars through the eyes of Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca." We don't know anything more than that, but that's enough to make me want to learn more about the movie.
