Pokemon: The Frist Movie website

A few weeks ago the internet was all a buzz about a website for the movie Space Jam. Made for the release of the film in 1996 the website hasn't been touched in all these years. Well there is another site with a similar story.

This is the website for the first Pokemon movie.

A few of the links have died since the site first went up over ten years ago. (for example, you can no longer pre-order the soundtrack) but it is still nice to take a look back at a time when we we just getting our first glimpse at the 151st Pokemon and wondering what kind of wonders this world might hold.

Jason:  First of all, I hope that everyone watched the right iteration of this film. The one with Vincent Price, not Jeff Goldblum.  Now that we’ve gotten that straight… This movie is considered to be a Halloween cult classic.   The Brady Bunch is one of the staple classics of television. Despite the show never receiving much critical praise, or even being that big of a hit during it's five season run, in syndication, the show had become one of the most well known television series of all time. Today almost everybody has at least a passing familiarity of the story of a man with three sons and a woman with three daughters getting married and creating a blended family with six children. Muppets for Best Song!

What with all the talk about the Oscar nominations getting announced today, one particular nomination has been overlooked. Namely the fact that even though the ENTIRE soundtrack was overlooked by the Golden Globes the Oscars at least did right by the best bunch of original songs this year and nominated Man or Muppet as on of the contenders for Best Original Song. Sure my pick would have been for Life's a Happy Song, but that's not what's important. What is important is that The Muppets got an Oscar Nomination! YAAAAAAAAAY
