Empire added to the National Film Registry

Its been a big year for The Empire Strikes Back . As the movie celebrated it's 30th anniversary this year it's success and legacy has been honored with special screenings, Interviews with cast and crew reminicing, and biggest of all Celebration V taking place in Florida earlier this year. Well Empire is finishing up the year in style by being preserved as part of the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress. Every year 25 films are selected to be preserved as an innfluential part of American culture. In addition to Empire another George Lucas creation was selected. His early film Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB was also selected. That's this movie which was one of his student films that he would later adapt into his first feature.
