Summer of Netflix Day 46 - Transformers: Age of Extinction

Joel:  This movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes. 2 hours. And 45 minutes. And the Dinobots? the ones that were front and center of all the advertising for this movie? They show up at the 2 hour and 10 minute mark. There’s just too much here. I can get behind sometimes just watching a explosion heavy action movie for the thrill every now and then. But by the time you’re going into the third hour with the 20th explosion scene, you just kind of start to get numb to the whole thing. And every additional scene that feels unnecessary just seems to drag. The movie took time to explain the Romeo and Juliet law and why it was ok (legally at least) for a twenty year old character to be dating a seventeen year old character. But your movie is almost three hours. Can’t the girl just be eighteen and save us all that additional scene. But perhaps the greatest error of the entire movie. It’s the fourth Transformers movie and they didn’t call it Trans4mers. Who dropped the ball on that one? ...
