The Movies You Need to See Before You Die

I'm a big fan of the book "1001 Movies You Need To See Before You Die." (Link to the Amazon page of the current edition here )In fact, I'm a big fan of almost any list of movies to compare and contrast to you own opinions (after all isn't that why we pour over Top Ten lists at the end of every year) but The bonus of "1001 Movies" is the sheer giant number of movies that the book talks about. That high of a number allows for not only "classic films of artistic merit, but also obscure cult hits, and popular movies as well. Movies like "Clueless," "Independence Day," and "The Hangover have all made the list. But each year as new movies come out, and are added to the list, they must replace other movies, So each new edition of the book misses out on some great films. A Pair of Trailers for The Lorax

A while back, we got a trailer for the upcoming movie, The Lorax based on the Dr. Seuss book. It looked a little something like this: You know, rather cute, not a whole lot like The Lorax book that I really remember. After all most of the Dr. Seuss movies (Horton, and the live action Grinch and Cat in the Hat before it) have added rather lengthy subplots in order to take the short children's book and stretch it out into a full movie. It seems that this one is going to give some extra story to the kid (unnamed in the book) who comes to hear the Once-ler's tale. Then we get this second trailer. Quite a bit darker at the beginning isn't it? But then again, The Lorax is something of a grim book. So the second trailer not only gets closer to the orignial feel of the book, it also focuses more on the story that the book has. So which trailer is better? Not for me to decide.
