Irrelevant But Awesome

I've heard of shows that have been canceled, and then uncanceled due to either loud enough fan support or last minute deals going through. I've also heard of shows that got canceled before a single episode was aired. (This happened to the show Hieroglyph , just this past year.) But I'm not sure if both of these things have ever happened to the same show before now. A while back, the land of Oz seemed to be everywhere. Disney had released a fairly successful prequel movie about the Wizard first arriving, Oz characters were showing up on Once Upon a Time , and there were no less than three (count 'em three) Wizard of Oz themed TV shows in development at the same time. One of those shows was Emerald City on NBC. Emerald City was described as a Game of Thrones style interpretation of the land of Oz (i.e. NBC would like some of that GoT success) that would cover events not only from the original Wizard of Oz book, but its thirteen sequels as well. As a fairly big Indiana Jones fan, I adore the classic Raiders of the Lost Ark movie poster that we are all familiar with. It is truly a majestic thing, and ranks up there among what I would consider to be one of the best move posters of all time.  But like all movies, there were other posters, posters that for whatever reason, were not selected and thus never saw the light of day, until now.  This is just one of several posters that ended up not getting used, but nonetheless is an amazing poster. And just in case you can't tell from the art style, that is indeed an drawing from Drew Struzan who is famous for many posters from the era including Star Wars, Back to the Future, Harry Potter, and the Indiana Jones posters that you are familiar with.  Screen Crush has a whole bunch of Indy posters for you to check out on their site. 

A new Wreck-It Ralph Poster A New Wreck-It Ralph Trailer November 2nd can't get here fast enough.

So for some time now, pictures, such as the ones below, have shown up from time to time on the ineternet.  Pictures such as those have all been about a movie. A Godzilla movie. An American made Godzilla movie. Now this isn't the first time America has attempted to take on the big moster from Japan, but this is an exciting post, so we'll not worry about the 1998 attempt right now.  The important thing to note is that yes, this Godzilla movie is moving forward, and it was announced today that Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. have scheduled the Godzilla movie to be released on May 16th, 2014.  As of right now, not much is known about the movie, other than the images above, the fact that director   Gareth Edwards has been tapped to bring the monster to the screen, and a surprise trailer and teaser poster that debuted earlier this year at Comic-Con. When i was a kid browsing through the shelves of the library, I found a comic book wedged between a couple of Far Side anthologies. Unlike any other comic I had ever read, this wasn't jokes told in a few panels. No, this was page after page all woven together to create one continus, epic story. This was Tintin.
