Ant-Man Post Credit Scene Explained (or at least discussed)

Image
Like all of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was necessary to sit through the credits of Ant-Man to get a sneak peak of where Marvel was planning to go, moving forward with their movies. It's becoming more and more common now to not have just one, but two different credit scenes, on in the middle of the credits, and one at the very end. So lets take a look at both of the scenes. Obviously, spoilers for Ant-Man will be in this post. End Scene #1: The mid credit scene is of Hank Pym telling his daughter that he's finally ready for her to take more of an active roll in their field work. Then he reveals a Wasp suit and we end with Hope saying "About damn time." Its fairly straightforward here, and it seems clear that Hope will be suiting up to fight alongside Scott in future Ant-Man movies if there are any (which there probably will be). It's interesting to note however, that in the comics, Janet is the character who usually portrays the Wasp. As...

Extended Ramblings on Age of Ultron Pt. 2

Image
We ended part one of this article on the twins, so lets pick up right there. Again there are going to be big spoilers about Age of Ultron , so if you happen to be one of the last six or so people who haven't gotten around to seeing the movie yet, you should not read any further. Especially since the biggest spoiler of the movie is coming up next. Ok? ok. Spoilers start now. We need to talk for a second about Quicksilver, and his eventual fate in the movie. There have been a few reactions to Quicksilver's death, but here's the one that I actually feel strongest about. Now that Quicksilver has died, he needs to stay dead. Let me take you back across some of Marvel's Phase Two collection of movies, starting with the previous Avengers movie. In that movie we watched Coulson die and it was a very powerful moment. It was the dead of someone who we didn't really expect and in may ways didn't know how much we cared about him until he had died. That's what mad...

Extended Ramblings About The Age of Ultron Pt. 1

Image
Note: This is not a review of Age of Ultron. Not Really. If you want a review, you should go see it. It's pretty good. As good as the first one? Debatable. Very different than the first one, But it is good. What this is, is exactly what it says on the box. A collection of extended, somewhat disorganized, ramblings about Age Of Ultron. Judging by the amount of money it made over the past several days, there is a fair chance that you've seen Avengers: Age of Ultron by now. So for the purposes of this article, we're going to assume that you've seen the movie and will be dealing with a spoiler or two getting down and discussing the bulk of the movie. So consider this a spoiler warning for the remainder of the article. Spoilers Start Now! There is a general feeling when it comes to sequels, especially action and superhero sequels, that the stakes have to be raised the second time out. After all we saw our hero survive whatever threat the first movie had to offer, a...

The Non-Spoiler Review - Avengers: Age of Ultron

Image
It's going to be really difficult to talk about this movie because some of the things I'm most excited to talk about are major spoilers However, that spoiler-filled review will be coming possibly at the beginning of next week once the vast majority of you have been able to see it yourselves. The problem with this film is that is faces the rough task of carrying the same amount of excitement that the first Avengers had. The major appeal of the first one was the pure excitement over finally seeing the big four finally fighting together in the same movie. All of that is now out of the way and Age of Ultron now has to keep us interested when some of that "newness" wears off. Basically, the challenge of this movie is "you've got us on the hook, don't screw up reeling us in." Does Age of Ultron accomplish that? I absolutely do. I'm not going to say if I prefer one over the other just yet, that may take a couple more viewings in the coming months b...

Marvel's Spider-Man: What We Know So Far

Image
Several weeks ago, it was announced that after much deliberation and lots of negotiation, a deal has finally been reached that will allow the character of Spider-man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since then rumors have been running wild with what the third incarnation of Spider-man in less than ten years was going to be like. Who would be playing him? How soon would he appear? How will Spider-Man factor into the already packed schedule that Marvel has lined up between now and 2020? While we don't know a lot of those answers yet, here's a quick look at the things we do have answers for sure about. No Andrew Garfield : It was stated pretty clearly early on, that this was not going to be the same Spider-Man from the past two Amazing Spider-Man films and thus Andrew Garfield would not be playing him again. While Andrew Garfield was one of the brightest spots in an otherwise problematic film series, it makes sense that Marvel would want no connection between their ...

Captain America will be released

Image
Captain America you say? You may be thinking that I am talking about this movie. The one that will be hitting theaters later this year. But we all knew that was coming out. What I want to talk about today is this movie Made in 1990, this version of Captain America never actually made it into theaters and has never been released on DVD. Those who dig through Ebay long enough may be able to find a rather rare copy of the VHS copy that was released. However, thanks to the new movie coming out this summer, we will finally be able to see the first Captain America movie make it's debut on DVD some time this May. And not only will it be released but it will be a director's cut version with about 30 extra minutes of footage. Now it is the general consensus that this movie was terrible. And being that I have never seen the whole thing, I can't say for sure one way or the other. But check back in May when I will most certainly have gotten a copy of this. Now if we can just get an off...
