First Image of the new DC universe Joker

Over the past several days, there have been several pictures released that have teased what appeared to be pictures of Jared Leto slowly transforming into The Joker, who he will be playing in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.

Well the final image is here, the first official image of the new Joker, so lets take a look.


































Well, thats... different.

You know, different might not be a bad thing. Whoever was going to have to play The Joker next was going to have to deal with the inevitable comparisons that would be made to Heath Ledger's Joker. To many people, that's the definitive Joker performance now, and a very hard act to follow. So the thought process here might be to simply go as different as possible and make it an apples to oranges situation. You can't really compare the quality of these two Jokers because they are so different to begin with.

And maybe this is just a publicity photo that doesn't really reflect the character portrayal that will be eventually seen on the screen. After all, are they really going to have a Joker character with the word "damaged" literally tattooed on his forehead the entire time?

Look I don't want to come out and say "They did bad, fix everything and make it the way that I want." Go check out some message boards from late 2007/early 2008 and see how many people were worried that Heath Ledger was going to be a terrible Joker. But I do want to say that I'm worried. I haven't been wild about much of anything I've seen about the upcoming DC cinematic universe, and this can be added to that list. You guys, I hope you know what you're doing with tatted up Mr. J up there.

What with all the talk about the Oscar nominations getting announced today, one particular nomination has been overlooked. Namely the fact that even though the ENTIRE soundtrack was overlooked by the Golden Globes the Oscars at least did right by the best bunch of original songs this year and nominated Man or Muppet as on of the contenders for Best Original Song. Day 5 of Halloween - The Fly (1958)

Jason:  First of all, I hope that everyone watched the right iteration of this film. The one with Vincent Price, not Jeff Goldblum.  Now that we’ve gotten that straight… This movie is considered to be a Halloween cult classic. It doesn’t have a whole lot in the way of scares or terror but it still remains a seasonal favorite. For the time, the make-up effects were decent. The way Andre’s fly head twitches and vibrates makes it look pretty convincing for a 1950’s puppet mask. The story, however, is what is so captivating. I have been reading a lot of Lovecraft stories lately and I couldn’t help but draw a comparison between them and this movie. The plot is very Lovecraftian. Let me explain: The main character is a highly intellectual recluse who spends most of his time in research. He stumbles across some natural secret that ultimately leads to his destruction. You're the Worst 5.13: "Pancakes"

Chris:  First of all, playing “No Children” by The Mountain Goats was the perfect ending I didn’t know the show needed. You’re the Worst ended with in a more happy, optimistic way than I think anyone predicted but I think it was done so in a way that was appropriate to how the show had felt previous to Pancakes. Edgar is the best of the worst, I’ve decided. Yes, trying to convince the groom to not go through with the wedding so close to the ceremony is a very bad thing to do but it forced Edgar and Gretchen to not only really think about what they actually wanted but to do so by directly addressing it with each other for once. In the end, Jimmy and Gretchen stay together but don’t get married and, honestly, it makes way more sense this way. The one thought I’ve had creeping in the back of my head since the moment Jimmy proposed was how out of character it felt for either of them to want to get married with all of their commitment issues.
