Everything We Missed This Weekend
With it being Comic-con weekend and all, there have been a ton of announcements flying left and right all weekend long. We covered as many of the big ones that we could, but there have been so many, it's easy for one or two to have slipped through the cracks. So now that things have finally started to calm down, here's a quick rundown of some of the announcements that were made over the past weekend that haven't been covered yet.
There's a Trailer out for The Man in the High Castle: Amazon's original series is based on the Phillip K. Dick story of the same name, about an alternate world where World War II went the other way. Like other Amazon shows, the pilot has already been avalible for viewing, but the trailer does have some footage of upcoming episodes.
A Chewbacca Comic Book Series has been announced: Marvel continues to expand their Star Wars comics line with a monthly comic book about Chewbacca that takes place right after Episode IV. The creators have already said that there would be no subtitles or translations for Chewie's growls, just like in the movies Check out a teaser for the first issue's cover.
Also, Star Wars and Darth Vader will crossover: Speaking of Star Wars comics, two series that are currently running are set to crossover in the near future. In a panel this past weekend, the outline of the comic even was described as such. “Darth Vader forced to face the entire might of the Rebel Alliance alone, after he crash lands on a planet. The Alliance – Including heroes Leia, Han, Luke, and Chewie – decide they cannot pass up the opportunity to rid themselves of their most fearsome foe.”
The story will begin in an over sized issue titled Vader Down and then will continue in both the Star Wars and the Darth Vader monthly comics.
Batman will be teaming up with the Ninja Turtles: Yep. you read that right folks. Welcome to comic books. This actual and totally backed by DC and IDW comics will happen this November.
Batman The Killing Joke is set to be an animated feature: DC continues to adapt all of their biggest storylines into animated features by finally getting around to the one that we've all been waiting for ever since it became clear that this was going to be a regular thing. The Killing Joke has long been considered to be one of the best Batman stories ever written, and certainly one of the best Joker stories ever written. And now would be a great time to remember that way back in 2011 when Mark Hamill announced he was retiring as the voice of the Joker he did tweet out that he had one exception in mind for retirement. So lets make sure he gets on the phone.
Prince Charming is getting a Live Action movie: As Disney continues to make a live action version of every single animated movie they've got, they seem to have realized that one live action movie per fairy tale might not be enough. So hot on the heels of Cinderella earlier this year, a Prince Charming movie is now in development. But it's not just a re-telling of the same Cinderella story but from his point of view. No, this movie is from the point of view of his brother who is finding it difficult to live up to the Charming family name.
Vixen Gets a trailer: For those that don't know, CW Seed is an extension of the CW that produces content that's exclusive for the internet. At Comic-con it was announced that an animated series about the character Vixen would premiere there that takes place in the same universe as the live action Arrow and Flash shows. Who knows? If this proves to be a success, we might see a live action version of the character on the CW before too long. Check out the Trailer below.
Iron Giant returns to theaters: The Iron Giant one of the greatest and most criminally underviewed movies of all time is not only going to return to theaters and get a proper blu ray release, this version will contain new footage that wasn't in the original. You can read EW's story all about it here.
Green Lantern Movie gets an update: Between all of the Batman v Superman hype and the Suicide Squad trailer issues, WB did find a brief moment to mention that the Green Lantern Movie that is scheduled for 2020 will be titled Green Lantern Corps. implying that it will follow multiple Lanterns. Hopefully that means it will follow multiple Earth based Lanterns and we get to see John Stewart and Guy Gardner hanging out with Hal Jordan.
Con Man trailer: Alan Tudyk has a show where he pretty much plays Alan Tudyk. Nathan Fillion is also there, pretty much playing Nathan Fillion. It's a web series that raised 3.2 million on Indiegogo and now there's a trailer to check out.

Batman is teaming up with The Avengers: Man how misleading of a title is that? But it's still technically correct. See there's a digital comic series titled Batman '66 that takes place in the Adam West Batman universe. That character is teaming up with John Steed and Mrs. Peel the two characters that starred in the British spy show from the 60s, The Avengers. Still, its a cool thing to look foward to if you have fond memories of being a nerd in the 60s.
Finally...
The Legend of Korra will continue in comic book form: Dark Horse will be continuing the story of Avatar, picking up right were The Legend of Korra left off with what will essentially be the fifth season of the story. To add to that, the series will be written by Michael Dante DiMartino co-creator of both The Legend of Korra and The Last Airbender.
