Disney Confirms Han Solo Origin Movie IS Happening

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the 21 Jump Street  and The Lego Movie directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller would be directer the second Star Wars anthology film to follow Rogue One  which will be released next year. THR also reported that the script is being written by The Empire Strikes Back,  Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark writer Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan.

Of course, we all knew that Josh Trank was slated to direct this movie and that it was rumored to be a Boba Fett spin-off movie. Trank left the movie and THR reported that Disney decided to change the movie altogether into a Han Solo origin story. Disney and Lucasfilm declined to comment...


That's right, it's happening! Star Wars fans rejoice, we finally get to know exactly how one of the movie beloved characters in the Star Wars universe got to become who he is and we get to find out when the movie is released in 2018. In their statement, Phil Lord and Christoper Miller said "We pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us."

No news yet as to who is in mind to play young Han Solo just yet. I will throw this out there, Anthony Ingruber played a pretty convincing young Harrison Ford in Age of Adaline. That's right, I watched Age of Adaline and it was a delightful move, wanna fight about it?!

What with all the talk about the Oscar nominations getting announced today, one particular nomination has been overlooked. Namely the fact that even though the ENTIRE soundtrack was overlooked by the Golden Globes the Oscars at least did right by the best bunch of original songs this year and nominated Man or Muppet as on of the contenders for Best Original Song. Day 5 of Halloween - The Fly (1958)

Jason:  First of all, I hope that everyone watched the right iteration of this film. The one with Vincent Price, not Jeff Goldblum.  Now that we’ve gotten that straight… This movie is considered to be a Halloween cult classic. It doesn’t have a whole lot in the way of scares or terror but it still remains a seasonal favorite. For the time, the make-up effects were decent. The way Andre’s fly head twitches and vibrates makes it look pretty convincing for a 1950’s puppet mask. The story, however, is what is so captivating. I have been reading a lot of Lovecraft stories lately and I couldn’t help but draw a comparison between them and this movie. The plot is very Lovecraftian. Let me explain: The main character is a highly intellectual recluse who spends most of his time in research. He stumbles across some natural secret that ultimately leads to his destruction. News Control: Tom Hardy as the Punisher

In the past day or two you may have seen something crossing your facebook page or news feed about Tom Hardy looking at playing The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This obviously would cause quite a buzz. The Punisher has been made into a movie three times and three times it has failed to start a Punisher franchise. It would be very exciting for Marvel to look into kickstarting one of their grittier characters and Tom Hardy would be a great casting choice, especially since he's about to star in a big summer blockbuster with Mad Max. But here's the thing. As of right now, Tom Hardy is not up for the role of The Punisher. In fact, Marvel isn't even currently working on a Punisher Franchise.
